Middle East scholar Vali Nasr says the U.S. underestimated the rift between the sects in the region. Actor Stephen Root discusses researching Richard Clark - the role he plays in the ABC miniseries, The Path to 9/11.
Vali Nasr
Vali Nasr is an authority on the Islamic world. He's advised senior policy makers, members of Congress, U.S. presidential candidates and private sector execs. Born in Iran, Nasr is a professor of international relations at Tufts University's Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. He's also written for The New York Times and Washington Post and authored several important books on Muslim politics and Islam, including The Shia Revival and Forces of Fortune, which offers an understanding of the Muslim world and its possible future.
Stephen Root
Stephen Root has starred on Broadway, TV and film. He was a hit in NBC's NewsRadio and provided character voices in the features Finding Nemo and Ice Age and on Fox's King of the Hill. His film credits include O Brother, Where Art Thou? Root majored in acting and broadcasting in college before winning a regional audition for the National Shakespeare Company.
