Legendary TV star Peter Falk talks about his career, his signature Detective Columbo role and his passion for drawing. Tavis also pays tribute to Negro Leagues baseball great Buck O'Neil.
Buck O'Neil Tribute
Buck O'Neil was a star first baseman and manager in the era of segregated baseball and went on to become the first African American coach in major league history. His talent on the field with the Kansas City Monarchs was exceeded only by his personality and perseverance off the field. Through the years, Buck O'Neil became the unofficial ambassador of the Negro Leagues, telling his stories to all who would listen.
Peter Falk
During a long and distinguished TV and film career, Peter Falk has received numerous awards. He's best known as the shabby but shrewd Columbo. Coincidentally, his first acting job was in the role of a detective in a high school play. After earning a Masters degree in public administration and becoming a CPA, Falk decided acting might be exciting. His false right eye - a result of cancer surgery at age 3 - gave him his trademark squint. He also has a passion for drawing and sketching and has a studio in his home.
