In addition to being editor-at-large at MONEY magazine, Michael Sivy also writes a monthly column on investing strategy that focuses on America's top companies and helps readers invest for long-term growth. He initially joined the magazine as a staff writer, but left for stints as a securities analyst and an analyst for the equity-trading division of a commodities brokerage. He's also worked on projects in Hong Kong and London to expand TIME International's personal finance coverage.

Pras Michel was a member of the groundbreaking trio, the Fugees, whose ‘96 album, 'The Score,' was one of the biggest-selling hip-hop albums of all time. After the group disbanded, Michel embarked on a solo career and also began to focus on acting and writing. His film credits include Higher Ed, Go for Broke and a cameo in Mystery Men—his debut role. Michel produced the documentary, Skid Row, about his experience posing as a homeless person in Los Angeles, and launched the nonprofit prAsperity project.
