Former Justice Department senior attorney Daniel Metcalfe discusses the U.S. Attorney General's resignation. Environmentalist Mike Tidwell talks about assessing Hurricane Katrina's aftermath.
Daniel Metcalfe
Daniel Metcalfe's 35-year career with the Justice Department began during the Nixon administration. In January, prior to the controversy over the firing of U.S. Attorneys, he retired as director of the Office of Information and Privacy, an office he co-founded in '81. Metcalfe worked as a fulltime intern at DOJ while attending law school at George Washington University and later worked as a trial attorney in the Civil Division. He went on record with his concerns about the tenure of Alberto Gonzales.
Mike Tidwell
Mike Tidwell has been active in DC-area environmental causes for more than a decade. He's director of the Chesapeake Climate Action Network, a grassroots nonprofit dedicated to fighting global warming, which he founded in '02. In his book, Bayou Farewell, he predicted the hurricane disaster in New Orleans and, in the documentary, We Are All Smith Islanders, explores how global warming is changing the Chesapeake Bay region. His newest book, The Ravaging Tide, focuses on Katrina and global warming.
