Investigative reporter Douglas Frantz discusses the impact of Pakistan's nuclear program. Filmmaker Catherine Owens describes her concept for one of Sundance's most anticipated films, U2 3D.
Douglas Frantz
A two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist and winner of several honors for investigative reporting, Douglas Frantz is a senior writer at Condé Nast Portfolio. He was previously managing editor of the Los Angeles Times and also worked for The New York Times and The Albuquerque Tribune. His ninth book, The Nuclear Jihadist (co-authored with his wife, Catherine Collins), is a biography of A.Q. Khan, the father of Pakistan's nuclear program. Frantz holds an M.A. in journalism from Columbia University.
Catherine Owens
Filmmaker Catherine Owens breaks new cinematic ground with U2 3D, the first concert film in movie history to be shot, edited and shown entirely in digital 3-D. Teaming with co-director Mark Pellington and using next generation technology, she filmed several concerts in South American stadiums during the final leg of U2's "Vertigo" tour in February '06. The film premieres at Sundance and opens this month in the U.S. Owens previously produced visuals for several of the legendary rock band's tours.
