Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter weighs in on next week's Democratic primary in his state. Los Angeles Times columnist Steve Lopez, author of The Soloist, discusses how a homeless violinist helped him find his passion.

Michael Nutter was elected mayor of Philadelphia in an historic landslide last November. He previously served on the city council and as Democratic leader of the 52nd Ward. Prior to going into public service, Nutter worked as an investment manager at one of the nation's leading minority-owned investment banking and brokerage firms. In '01, he was appointed to the Board of City Trusts, which manages the city's charitable assets. The lifetime Philadelphian is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business.
Steve Lopez
Los Angeles Times columnist Steve Lopez is the author of three novels and a recently-released book of non-fiction: The Soloist, based on a series of columns he wrote about Skid Row and homelessness in L.A. The story of his friendship with a gifted violinist with an untreated mental illness is also set to be a major motion picture. Lopez, whose work has won numerous national journalism awards, previously spent four years at Time Inc., writing for Time, Sports Illustrated, Life and Entertainment Weekly.
