Before taking the helm of the National Urban League in '03, Marc Morial served two terms as one of the youngest mayors in New Orleans history. While mayor, he was head of the U.S. Conference of Mayors and developed a national urban policy. He also served in the Louisiana State Senate, where he was recognized as Conservationist Senator of the Year, Education Senator of the Year and Legislative Rookie of the Year. When not in public service, Morial practiced law and was involved in many high profile cases.

A renowned scholar, Princeton professor Dr. Cornel West has written/edited more than 20 books, including Race Matters and, his memoir, Brother West. Outside of academia, he's been described as an "intellectual provocateur," with lectures, TV and film appearances and his spoken-word CDs. He provided philosophical commentary on all three Matrix films, and his disc, "Never Forget: A Journey of Revelations," combined hip-hop and intellectual dialogue. West has also taught at Harvard, Yale and Union Theological Seminary.

Matt Bai is an observer of the American political scene and trusted authority on the Democratic Party. He writes for The New York Times Magazine and has also authored a book on Democratic politics, The Argument.Bai began his career as a city desk reporter with The Boston Globe and previously worked for Newsweek and Rolling Stone. His international experience includes coverage from Iraq and Liberia. During the primary season, Bai co-moderated the progressive bloggers' presidential candidates forum.
