Journalist Dan Baum talks about his acclaimed new book project on the people of New Orleans, Nine Lives. Actor Bill Paxton, star of the HBO series Big Love, comments on the possibility of being typecast and describes his new JFK series project.

Dan Baum has written numerous articles for various national magazines and been a staff writer and a reporter for several newspapers, including The Wall Street Journal and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He's also the author of Citizen Coors and Smoke and Mirrors, a history of the war on drugs. The Boulder, Colorado-based journalist moved to New Orleans to write about the city's response to Hurricane Katrina for The New Yorker. His research resulted in his latest book, Nine Lives: Death and Life in New Orleans.

Bill Paxton has worked steadily in Hollywood for more than 25 years. He's played many distinctive and memorable characters in indies and blockbusters like Apollo 13, Twister and Titanic. He's also been behind the lens as a director. Paxton's interest in films began in his teens, when he made his own movies with a Super-8 camera. At age 18, he moved to Hollywood from Ft. Worth, TX, breaking into the industry as a set dresser. The Golden Globe-nominated actor is in his third season as star of HBO's Big Love.
