Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer are the alter egos of Spinal Tap—the heavy metal band that was the subject of the fake '84 documentary, This is Spinal Tap. The trio has also enjoyed individual career success. Guest is known for writing, directing and starring in several "mockumentary" films. McKean, a recognizable name in film and TV, is best known for his role as Lenny on the sitcom, Laverne and Shirley. Shearer is a voice actor, who plays 21 characters on The Simpsons. The three also collaborated on the acclaimed '03 spoof A Mighty Wind.
