White House Releases Names

The Obama administration recently released the names of visitors arriving to the White House
I would loved to have caught a glimpse of a guy like Joe Biden, who usually provides a lot of fodder for the late night talk show hosts, or even seen the White House bowling alley.
While my name must not have reached the White House office yet, there have been others whose visit fared much better than my own.
ABC News reports the White House recently released the names of visitors (in which inquiries were made at Whitehouse.gov) on Friday. Some of the most recognizable names include Denzel Washington, Bill Gates and, yes, even Oprah. Names like these certainly get a lot of buzz and attention surrounding them, but they were not the only names on the list.
Many of the guests also included bank CEO's, oil executives and service union presidents. Typically, it is virtually unheard of for an administration to release the names of those who visit the White House.
The names were released in part as an effort to keep transparency between the White House and the public. With issues concerning health care, clean energy, jobs and a host of other issues, I think it is definitely a good idea for the public to know who is meeting with the top officials of our nation.
No matter your political beliefs, I think a lot of people would get a kick out of visiting the White House. To those fortunate few who've had a chance to step behind the veiled curtain of power and get past the guided tours, I tip my hat to you.
I just hope I get my special visit soon...
