When We Left Earth

This is a quick note to let you know about the Discovery Channel show "When We Left Earth", which celebrates NASA missions over the last 50 years. I have not seen it, but it looks like it's rather good. It's on Sundays, and started last week, but you can still see all the shows. Look here for the schedule. Tonight (Saturday) there is something special on (I got an email about this from one of the people who works outreach on the show). There's a live chat with one of the executive producers. Here's what they say:

This Saturday, June 14, 2008 The Discovery Channel will be hosting a special live online Q&A with Bill Howard, Executive Producer of When We Left Earth: The NASA Missions. Bill Howard worked closely with NASA in selecting the best footage and stories captured over the past 50 years to create the six part, HD series. The live online chat will take place Saturday, June 14th @ 10 PM ET at [this link].

In additional to participating in the live chat, users can submit their questions at any time prior to the chat on Saturday evening. There is no registration necessary to participate.

Also this Sunday, June 15 beginning 9PM E/P, Discovery launches into space with the very dramatic Apollo missions. Preview clips are available at [this link].
