Neon: How was your day John?

John: Fine

Neon: Nothing new and exciting?

John: No. (Silence.)

Neon: Well, something happened to me today. I have been feeling so alone and --

John: (Cutting her off.) The Falcons won against the Slammers last night.

Neon: That's nice, but you're not listening to me. I'm trying to tell you that I don't feel comfortable--

John: Isn't there a shoe sale next week?

Neon: Why are you so afraid to have a real conversation with me? Don't you want to know more about me and who I really am?

John: I know who you are. You're Neon Barbie and that's all I need to know.

Neon: There's more to me than where I go, who I'm with and my accessories. Well, at least I wish there was.

John: There is more than that. You're beautiful too. You drive a great car, you live in a Dream House, complete with your own Barbie Bubbling Spa, and you're dating me! What else is there?

Neon: (Jumps up and straightens her arms.) I'm hollow inside!!!

John: Neon, get a hold of yourself! There are people here!

Neon: Everything you said that you thought was so wonderful about me is true about every other Barbie. Nowhere did you say that I have a great personality or anything about who I really am!

John: Smile Neon! Bend your elbows before you embarrass us anymore than you have already. You have to remember who you are!

Neon: You're right John, I'm Barbie. (She snaps back to Barbie position and walks out, he follows.)
