Once the deed for the land is turned over to you, there are a number of things you must find out to begin the work of subdividing your land and building a community. Although your Great Uncle’s attorney has helped you get the deed, he’s not sure what you must do next.

What’s the first thing you think you ought to do?

Find out if the land is within city limits.
Develop a Web site with pictures of the land that informs visitors that lots are for sale.
Put an ad in the paper advertising lots.
Purchase a billboard and install it at the main entrance to the property advertising lots for sale.
