Special Series: Beyond the Book

Digital technology is disrupting the book industry as never before. The rise of e-books is poised to overtake sales of print books soon, and people are reading books on Kindles, iPads, Nooks and more. Plus, the equation for authors is changing, as they get more tools to go around traditional publishers and go the self-publishing route. We decided to do another in-depth special report looking "Beyond the Book" all this week on MediaShift, and likely into next week. We have great personal accounts of reading e-books from author Jenny Shank and MediaShift columnist Dorian Benkoil, as well as a special 5Across video show roundtable and a Mediatwits podcast focused completely on Amazon.
