Here's the latest 4MR audio report from MediaShift. This week I look at the recent ruling in the Pirate Bay case, where four men at the file-sharing site were found guilty and sentenced to a year in prison -- but are asking for a retrial due to a conflict of interest by the judge. I also mention @Oprah's entry to Twitter and whether there will be a backlash on the service now that's it's gone mainstream. Speaking of Twitter, I ask "Just One Question" to PR blogger Steve Rubel about how he thinks Twitter will make money.

I think Oprah is going to blow a fuse in Twitter traffic. She's so popular that she'll suck up all the attention on Twitter.

Great roundup, Mark. Here's hoping the Twitter backlash take hold and all the johnny-come-lately's bail out. Yes, everyone has their own personalized feed of Twitter, but the infrastructure is obviously not 100% up to all the new traffic it's getting as a result of the media finally realizing that it exists. I don't want to see it become the next Facebook, it's actually fun & useful!

Jordan,
Definitely there have been problems. My 6-year-old son wanted to Twitter (not sure why) so I set him up @julianlego and it was swallowed up by another account. Eventually it came back to life a couple days later... Pretty flaky.

Felicity,
Well the DMCA currently protects sites like YouTube until a take-down notice is given for copyrighted content -- at least in theory. It's just now being tested with a huge lawsuit by Viacom for $1 billion, still in courts... We'll see.

No copyright content is hosted on The Pirate Bay's web servers. The site hosts BitTorrent links to TV, film and music files held on its users' computers.
