<![CDATA[<p>I thought I was going to a breakfast where people actually ate food. But food is hardly the top priority at a Jeff Pulver breakfast, where people are too busy pitching their latest ideas to investors, scoping out the competition, or scoping out the eligible singles on the market.  Jeff is known for being one of leading innovators in voice-over-IP (VOIP) technology, but he now seems more excited to discuss some of his latest ploys for disrupting the old media with new Israeli-made technologies. </p>

<p>That's one of the reasons he keeps coming back to the "Silicon Wadi" (Wadi is Arabic for valley), the nickname for the Israeli coastal plain that boasts the highest concentration of high-tech companies in the world.  Last Wednesday, nearly 150 people from the technology and new media worlds in Israel collided over cappuccino at the port of Tel Aviv.  This is what happens when Jeff posts his breakfast plans to 4,997 of his closest friends on Facebook:</p>
