Americans unite on Memorial Day to remember our fallen, but we must also use the occasion to renew our resolve to support our active duty troops, our veterans and their families. They serve for us – now it’s our turn to serve for them.

There are many things Americans can do to show our support for the active duty troops, veterans and their families, who face the direct impact of military service. Find useful links and ideas about how you can provide much needed help and support.

Wounded Warriors

Reach out and help severely wounded service members as they find the resolve to fight for their own healing and recovery, achieving new potential in their lives. They and their caregivers need our emotional support as well as practical help with everyday activities.

Help Grieving Families

Make a difference in the lives of a family that has lost a loved one. Survivors need a time to grieve but they also need help recovering from the loss of their fallen heroes. Consider specific ways you can get involved or support organizations that provide counseling and other services for grieving families.

Cope with Losing

Find resources and ideas to help care for yourself and others who are suffering through this most traumatic of losses. All people need and deserve help in healing from the loss of a loved one, especially in wartime.
