The economy and job market continue to be major issues for many veterans and their families. We have listed a number of employment resources below.
This U.S. Office of Personnel Management’s government-wide veterans employment website was established to help the men and women who have served in the military find employment in the federal government.
The Department of Labor’s VETS is a comprehensive career website for hiring veterans of America's military, where managers, human resources specialists and veterans can find the resources they need to match employment opportunities with knowledge, skills and abilities.
A Department of Labor program devoted to educating and training employers to work with veterans and returning service members who may be suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and/or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) with worksheets, online training and other OneStop facilites.
This coalition will focus on accelerating skills training for U.S. veterans; helping veterans and employers translate military skills to advanced manufacturing jobs; and empowering employers with tools to recruit, onboard and mentor veterans to create futures for those who made ours better.
Hire Heroes USA (Hire Heroes) is dedicated to creating job opportunities for US military veterans and their spouses through personalized employment training and corporate engagement. Lockheed Martin supports Hire Heroes USA, which partners with the USO to provide workshops and one-on-one assistance to prepare transitioning Warriors for civilian employment.
The mission of HirePatriots is to create a nationwide employment safety net for US veterans. So wherever a veteran lives in the US, they can find work every day, with either a One Day, Temporary or Full Time job from the HirePatriots website. The organized has received the Congressional Medal of Merit and the Presidents Volunteer Service Medal.
Wounded Warrior Project’s Warriors to Work program assists warriors with the transition back into the civilian workforce. This free program offers a complete package of employment-assistance services, including resume assistance, interviewing skills, job training, networking and job placement assistance.
Return to Work is a nonprofit that provides career rehabilitation and counseling for service members returning from active duty and entering the work place through evaluation, training and consultation with staff.
The Department of Labor sponsored, OneStop, dedicated to veterans helps in creating resumes and step-by-step guides needed for job qualifications, credentials and local training programs.
Recruit Military is a job board and firm dedicated to helping veterans in their job search, as well as encouraging employers to focus on former service members.
