Anthony KearnsAnthony Kearns Anthony Kearns, recognized as one of the world‘s finest tenors, made his official U.S. Grand Opera debut as the lead tenor in the role of Edgardo in Gaetano Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor with Opera Naples of Florida in January 2011. His first appearance with the opera company came in early 2010 as Romeo in its production of Romeo and Juliet: Then and Now. Later in the year, he starred as Don José in the Dun Laoghaire and Rathdown Glasthule Opera Company’s production of Georges Bizet’s Carmen.

Kearns sang with the Royal Dublin Society as the lead tenor in the first complete performance since the early 20th century ofThe Lily of Killarney, part of The Irish Ring trilogy. In 2011, he performed in the lead tenor role, Don Ottavio, in Mozart’s Don Giovanni at the Lismore Music Festival. In August, he joined the Emerald City Opera, Steamboat Springs, Colorado, as Alfred in a concert staged performance of Johann Strauss’ operetta Die Fledermaus. Kearns returned to Opera Naples in early 2012 as the lead tenor in Charles Gounod’s Faust, a role he previously performed with Opera Ireland. This was nominated for best production in the Irish Times Theater Awards in 2006.

Other roles include Fenton in Giuseppe Verdi’s Falstaff, performed in Montepulciano, Italy, and Rinuccio in Puccini’s comic opera Gianni Schicci with Opera Ireland.

Kearns has performed in the most prestigious venues around the world, from Carnegie Hall to the Sydney Opera House. His flourishing international solo career includes high-profile celebrity engagements, major television appearances, concert tours, and collaborations with the finest orchestras, including the Boston Pops, the ChicagolandPops, the Ulster Orchestra and the Czech National Orchestra. In November 2012, Kearns performed with the U.S. Air Force Band as a featured guest in the PBS Special America’s Veterans: A Musical Tribute, with American Idol season two winner, Ruben Studdard. The following year, Kearns reunited with the U.S. Air Force Band to open the televised 2013 National Memorial Day Parade, where he was backed by a 260-member chorus.

Kearns is a founding member of the popular singing group The Irish Tenors, with whom he has 10 best-selling CDs and five PBS Specials. He is a member of The Recording Academy, the premier association that honors excellence in the recording arts and music industries.
