Carlsbad Caverns National Park as told to Artman Tiger
My family and I took a fifteen passenger van on a road trip. We started in San Diego, California; we then took highway 8 to New Mexico. The roads there were pretty open. When we turned a corner, we saw the set from the Flintstone movie. When we arrived at Carlsbad Caverns, we only stayed until the tour was over. When it was over we continued with our journey.
The thing I found the most interesting about Carlsbad Caverns was at the Amphitheater when the bats came swirling out of the cave; it looked like a black cloud. I remember the weather being about 80 degrees; the surrounding area was mostly desert and was dry and hot. Some of the wildlife I remember seeing was bats, coyote, deer, quail, and ducks. As far as History, twelve to fifteen thousand years ago Indians lived in the Guadalupe Mountains.
