Street Critique for April 25th - Bryan Perry

posted by Jaime George, Web Producer at 6:02 PM on 04/25/07

Street Critique Title GraphicOn tonight's program, NBR Anchor Paul Kangas gets a "Street Critique" from Bryan Perry, Editor of the investing newsletter "The 25% Cash Machine." It's Bryan's first time as a Street Critique guest, and it's also the first day the Dow surpassed the 13,000 milestone. Bryan explains why he sees some major profit taking ahead. He also discusses his investing strategy, which involves sector rotation and searching out stocks that have big dividend yields. He closes the interview by recommending a few stocks with dividend yields in the 8% range.

Do you agree with Bryan? Will investors sell in May and walk away? And, what are your thoughts on his sector rotation/dividend yield investing strategy?

I have read Brian's book and have been a charter subscriber since he started the 25% Cash machine. Actually, before he started the newsletter he came out with a special report and I started with that.

I find his advice has been very beneficial to help me get started in investing in stocks. I own two of tonights stocks and I have made money as he says and the divudends sure do make it nice when that time of month comes around. I have been trying to buy the third one mentioned, but it has not been in the buy range when I have had the money to buy.

Steve,

Good news! The ticker symbols of all three of Bryan Perry's picks are listed in the transcript of the interview. And, I just put a direct link to the transcript in the main blog entry above.

I read Bryan's book and think the idea of sector rotation is very interesting and makes sense.

As far as people "selling in May" in general, people tend to follow the crowd so I doubt any massive sales will occur unless the market tanks.

I was busy grooming the dog (yellow retriever +husky) and I only caught one of the ticker symbols EGLE, what were the other two?
