Boogie Down with New Video Game Release

posted by Scott Gurvey, New York Bureau Chief at 5:44 PM on 10/16/08

Photo of Scott GurveyTonight’s Tech Talk has some really neat video of two new games. First, I kid you not, Boogie Superstar. This is a program for the Nintendo Wii designed for teen and tween girls. With Boogie Superstar, they get to design their outfits, choreograph their dance steps, and pick and sing their tunes. Game designers don’t often produce material for this audience, so it should be a big hit with American Idol wannabes.

And for adults, Spore. Designer Will Wright describes it as “life” from a blob of genetic code to a space faring race. Wright designed The Sims and Sim City, two of the best selling franchises of all time, so he should know.
