DANA BATE is a field producer for Nightly Business Report. Reporting and producing from the Washington, DC bureau, she covers the intersection of business and politics, focusing on topics ranging from energy to health care.
In 2008, Dana won a Gerald Loeb Award for her work on "India's Promise," a special NBR series on the Indian economy. The five-part series included stories on India's real estate boom and water crisis and featured newsmakers including Kamal Nath, India's commerce minister.
Prior to joining Nightly Business Report, Dana was a Washington Correspondent for KELO-TV through the Medill News Service. She holds a B.S. in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale and a Master's in Journalism from Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism, where she won the Harrington Award for outstanding promise in the field of journalism.
