ALAN S. BLINDER is a Partner in the Promontory Financial Group as well as the Gordon S. Rentschler Memorial Professor of Economics at Princeton University. He is also the Co-Director of Princeton's Center for Economic Policy Studies. Prior to his current position, Dr. Blinder was the Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, 1994-96. From 1993-94, he served as a member of President Clinton's original Council of Economic Advisers. Dr. Blinder is the author of numerous books and articles about economics and fiscal policy, including Economics: Principles and Policy - the popular textbook he co-authored with William J. Baumol.
