ALLAN SLOAN became the Senior Editor-at-Large for Fortune magazine in July 2007. Prior to that, he was the Wall Street Editor at Newsweek magazine. Sloan is weekly contributor to Public Radio International's Marketplace. He previously wrote a syndicated business column at Newsday that appeared in major-market newspapers including The Los Angeles Times, The Boston Globe, and The Dallas Morning News. Earlier in his career, Sloan was a senior editor for Forbes magazine. He is a five-time winner of the Gerald Loeb Award, business writing's highest honor.
