Emmy Award Winning, 25-Year TV Veteran To Succeed Recently Promoted Rodney Ward

January 5, 2006 - Miami - Wendie Feinberg has been named Managing Editor of the Emmy Award winning Nightly Business Report, WPBT-TV Miami announced today. In this new role, Feinberg's responsibilities will include managing the day-to-day operations and editorial production of the program. The longest running and most widely watched nightly business newscast, Nightly Business Report is produced by WPBT and distributed nationally by PBS to more than 250 public television stations.

Feinberg, who had served as senior producer for the program since April 1995, succeeds Rodney Ward, who was recently promoted to Executive Editor of NBR and senior vice president of NBR Enterprises. As senior producer, Feinberg planned many aspects of the half-hour show including writing and editing copy and story selection. Her work included extensive international production work in China, Taiwan, Vietnam and Cuba.

“Wendie brings more than a decade of experience in covering business and financial news domestically and internationally,” said Ward, who replaced Linda O’Bryon when she left to be chief content officer for Northern California Public Broadcasting, which includes KQED, KTEH and KCAH. “She understands that today's viewer is looking for more than just the facts. She knows our job is to provide our viewers with news and analysis that will help them make better and more informed decisions about those issues and events that impact their financial lives.”

In 2006, Feinberg was the winner of the National Business News Emmy Award for continuing coverage of a news story for her work on: China As An Emerging Power. In addition, she is the winner of three Local Emmy Awards in Georgia, Florida and Boston for Best Newscast, Best Public Affairs Programming and Best Investigative Reporting. Feinberg was also the recipient of a Radio & Television News Directors Association Award for Best News Series or Documentary.

Feinberg is a graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in broadcasting, and then went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Journalism at Boston University.
