A gallery of photographs taken during production of "Deep Oil" -- the NBR series reported by Diane Eastabrook.

Approaching the Discoverer Deep Seas. This is the view the NBR reporting team of Diane Eastabrook, Hart Billings, and Dan Morris had as the helicopter carrying them approached the drill ship in the Gulf of Mexico and prepared to land on the heli-pad.

Getting the Facts. NBR's Diane Eastabrook gets information about the Tahiti Field drilling operation from Chevron's Drill Site Manager, Donald Legros (far right), and its Government & Public Affairs Advisor, Mickey Driver (far left, holding camera).
Diane Eastabrook interviews Donald Legros on the ship's deck, while videographer Dan Morris captures it all on camera.
Interviewing the Drill Site Manager. The NBR reporting team does an on-camera interview with Chevron's Donald Legros, the drill site manager. That's Diane Eastabrook holding the microphone and Dan Morris behind the video camera.
Diane holds a microphone and faces Dan and his camera on the ship's deck.
Recording the Stand-Up. After most of the reporting is done, Diane Eastabrook is ready to record her stand-up on the deck of the Discoverer Deep Seas. A stand-up is the portion of a video news story that shows the reporter on camera, talking to viewers. Once again, that's Dan Morris behind the camera.
