Sarbanes-Oxley: Five Years Later

In the spring of 2002, investors hit hard by massive frauds at Enron and WorldCom lost confidence in the corporate accounting system. Congress responded by passing the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Today, critics say the well-intentioned “SarbOx” is actually making American companies uncompetitive. In this Good Friday special, NBR looks at the arguments for and against SarbOx.
