Retirement Calculators- Clarification

In the December 22, 2008 report (Retirement Calculators), NBR reported that Yahoo Finance "How Much Do You Need To Save For Retirement?" calculator may understate the financial resources of people retiring with pensions (because the calculator does not ask a question regarding pension income).

Yahoo issued the following response:

"As the world's leading finance site, our goal is to provide tools and information to help our users to make informed financial decisions on issues ranging from buying and selling stocks to calculating retirement savings. We provide dozens of retirement planning tools for our users, including several calculators and resource centers. We continually evaluate and update all of our products, and are already planning to update our retirement calculators in the coming weeks. We will also be adding notations that more clearly define their functionality early next year."
