Bay Area Green Business Program
The Bay Area Green Business Program was developed by local governments in the San Francisco, California Bay Area in collaboration with the US EPA and Cal EPA. The program is designed to help "local businesses comply with environmental regulations and take actions to conserve resources, prevent pollution, and minimize waste." The site includes a list of steps to "becoming green."
Earth Policy Institute
The Earth Policy Institute is an organization dedicated to providing "a vision of what a sustainable economy will look like and a plan for how to get from here to there." The organization is part of the Environmental Protection Agency's Green Power Partnership.
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
The EPA is US federal agency charged with protecting human health and the environment. This links to information about the EPA's Green Power Partnership, which offers information for companies interested in buying green power to reduce their environmental impact.
International Monetary Fund (IMF)
The (IMF) is an international organization that promotes monetary cooperation, exchange stability, and orderly exchange arrangements; fosters economic growth; and provides temporary financial assistance to countries to help ease balance of payments adjustment. This links to a November 2007 IMF research brief titled, "Climate Change and the Global Economy."
National Sustainable Agriculture Information Service
The National Sustainable Agriculture Information Service provides information and technical assistance to farmers and others involved in sustainable agriculture in the U.S.
S.E.E. Change Inititative
S.E.E. Change is a sustainable initiative of the Business Roundtable " that encourages leading U.S. companies to embrace business strategies that measurably improve Society, the Environment and the Economy."
U.S. Department of Energy
This links to the U.S. Department of Energy's Green Power Network (GPN). The site offers information and news "environmentally preferred" sources of power.
U.S. Green Building Council
The U.S. Green Building Council is non-profit group of building industry leaders "working to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work."
The World Bank
The World Bank "helps to improve the safety net systems of developing countries through technical assistance, knowledge dissemination and direct lending." This links to a 2003 World Development Report titled, "Sustainable Development in a Dynamic World." The report offers information about how the world could change in the next 50 years.
