As part of the annual "Investment Review & Preview" special airing January 1, 2008, NBR asked five of its regular "Market Monitors" to predict how the market will move in 2008. Preview these experts' predictions below.

Al's also bullish on stocks in 2008. He expects the economy to gain strength after mid-year. Technology is one of his favorite sectors for the new year, and he predicts the DJIA will end the year at 14,200.

Mark's another bull. He expects good things from the yen carry-trade, Henry Paulson, and Ben Bernanke. Housing is one of his favorite sectors for the new year, and he thinks the Dow will end the year at 14,800.

Jim is the only bear in this bunch. He expects more bad news from the housing sector and thinks inflation concerns will pressure the Fed. Soft-drink beverages are one of favorite sectors in the new year, and he predicts the Dow will end 2008 at 12,400.
