Congressional Budget Office (CBO) (PDF Document)

The CBO "provides Congress with nonpartisan analyses for economic and budget decisions." This links to a January 2008 CBO study titled, "Effects of Gasoline Prices on Driving Behavior and Vehicle Markets."

Energy Information Agency (EIA)

The Energy Information Agency is the statistical agency of the U.S. Department of Energy. This links to EIA statistics about petrolum, including U.S. gas prices.

This report, created by the Congressional Research Service and last updated on February 4, 2008, is hosted on Senator Patrick Leahy's (D - Vermont) website.

Government Acountability Office (GAO) (PDF Document)

The GAO's "mission is to help improve the performance and assure the accountability of the federal government for the benefit of the American people." This links to a May 2005 GAO report titled, "Understanding the Factors That Influence the Retail Price of Gasoline."

International Monetary Fund (IMF)

The IMF promotes monetary cooperation, exchange stability, and orderly exchange arrangements; fosters economic growth; and provides temporary financial assistance to countries to help ease balance of payments adjustment.. This links to a March 2008 report in IMF Survey Magazine titled, "Managing Surging Oil Price in the Developing World."

Tennessee Oil Marketers Association (TOMA)

TOMA represents independent petroleum marketers and convenience store operators in Tennessee. This links to a section of the TOMA website titled, "Understanding Gas Prices."

U.S. Department of Energy

This links to the U.S. Department of Energy's Fuel Economy website. The site offers information about finding lowe gas prices, driving more efficiently, hybrid vehicles, alternative fuel vehicles, fuel economy ratings, and more.

World Bank

The World Bank "helps to improve the safety net systems of developing countries through technical assistance, knowledge dissemination and direct lending." This links to information about "Oil Price Volatility, Economic Impacts, and Financial Management" -- a feature event cosponsored by George Washington University and the World Bank Institute in March 2008. A number of the presentations are viewable online.
