The Corporate Library
The Corporate Library is an "independent source for U.S. corporate governance and executive & director compensation information and analysis." The organization is headed by Nell Minow, who is interviewed in NBR's "Trouble at the Top" special.
Directorship
Directorship is a creator of business and management content. This links to a December 1, 2007 article published by Directorship titled, "Lipton v. Bebchuck." In the article, Lucian Bebchuck of Harvard Law School -- who is interviewed in NBR's "Trouble at the Top" -- offers the shareholder rights perspective, and attorney Martin Lipton offers the management prerogative perspective.
Friends of the Earth (FOE)
FOE is an organization that "defends the environment and champions a health and just world." This links to FOE's shareholder activism handbook. While the handbook is geared to "socially-concious" investors, it is a solid compilation of steps an investor needs to take to "excercise ownership responsibility."

ProxyMatters.com is a blog focused on shareholder rights, resolutions, and votes.
U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) (PDF Document)
The SEC regulates equity markets in the U.S. This links to an May 24, 2007 SEC document titled, "Unofficial Transcript of the Roundtable Discussion on Proxy Voting Mechanics." The discussion included panels on share ownership and voting, broker proxy voting, and shareholder communications.
Virginia Law Review
The Virginia Law Review "is a journal of legal scholarship published by the students of the University of Virginia School of Law." This links to a paper, titled "The Myth of the Shareholder Franchise," published in the May 2007 issue of the journal. The paper, authored by Lucian Bebchuk of Harvard Law School, started the current debate about whether shareholders really do have the power to replace boards.
