"Last Word"-Tis The Season for The Neiman Marcus Catalog

Tuesday, October 02, 2007

SUSIE GHARIB: And finally tonight, the holiday season is in full swing at Neiman Marcus. The upscale retailer has published its annual catalog of over-the-top holiday gifts. Highlights include an eight-foot by three-foot interactive touch media wall. On it, you can crop pictures, type or simply draw, just by tapping the screen. The price tag starts at $100,000. For those with a slightly smaller budget, there's the swami conversational robot. It can carry on conversations and even offer advice at a cost of $75,000. Now if you're a really big spender, $2 million gets you your own rocket racing league team. This races small planes, not cars. And if you more of a seafarer, this submarine may be for you. It has a leather seat, air conditioning and 360 degree views. And Paul, the starting price on this one nearly $1.5 million.

KANGAS: That's just about enough to put any bank account underwater.

GHARIB: It's better than fruit cake.
