Wednesday, October 03, 2007SUSIE GHARIB: And finally tonight, a crackdown on bogus emails that promise fast, easy money. You've probably seen them. The sender promises to bring money to the United States, if you send money first. So far, the U.S. postal inspection service has seized more than 540,000 fake checks, written for more than $2 billion. It's called "Operation Dutch Treat." So far, 60 people in the Netherlands have been arrested and the effort is continuing. And Paul, the authorities want consumers to know that the crimes are real, but the promises are fake.
