In Part I of the series, there is a globe spinning, upon which Fort Ross, California is shown as being the furthest reach of the Russian Empire. Fort Ross is described as being North of San Francisco, and it is in fact approximately 100 miles North of the city. In the program it was shown as being located on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, some 900 miles north of San Francisco. This is not a good geography lesson.
