In Manning, South Carolina, the Reverend Jonathan Mouzon, of the burned Macedonia Bapist Church, tried to forge bridges between the races by holding an interracial picnic. Only 4 whites attended. Is interracial contact and communication a good way to defeat hate crime? What are you doing in your town to develop relationships with people who are different from you?

In the wake of a near fatal gay-bashing by a student from his school, and the death of another during a clash between whites and Latinos, San Clemente High School teacher Joe Moros started a class against hate. With guest speakers, videos and readings, Moros teaches his students about the causes and often deadly consequences of hate, and encourages them to accept people who are different from them - whether they be of another race, religion, or gender, be immigrant or native-born, or be gay or straight. Do you think you can teach respect and acceptance for diversity in order to combat hate crime? Do you think a public classroom is an appropriate place to teach these things?

I am sick and tired of people who think that sleeping with another race is going to change anything. Is sleeping with a white guy going to change the fact that whites make up a great percentage of this country's population 2) that they own most of this country 3) that they own most of the world's resources? No it does not. You can not stop people from hating other by opening your bedroom door or adopting some kid from another race. Alot of the problems that people have is that they do not have the right to be themselves i.e. be a certian culture, race etc. They don't have access to resources. You can not convince a person that looks different or has different views that sleeping outside their race is going to make them feel comfortable with themselves or make people comfortable to them. There is a lot of "infighting" within ethnic groups and races that is far more detrimental then worrying about getting a badge of honor for not being racist or liberal. Sleeping with another person or dating is not going to put food on the table, hel children good grades in school, stop police from beating you to death, having good self esteem. There are alot of white cops that sleep and date with black women and beat up black men every day. I have a problem with that.There are too many candy coated "solutions" these days. To many people want a badge of honor for being open-minded and liberal. That is why alot of these hate crimes occur. There are 6 BILLON people in this world and around 273 MILLION in the US alone. Each person has their own views and ideas. It is impossilbe for all of us to get along. Especially when atrocities are being committed against a lot of people every day due to greed and ignorance and because of war and colonization and nobody wants to hear about it.

I HAVE A DIFFERENT SITUATION OF A "HATE CRIME" THAT IS CURRENTLY HAPPENING TO ME IN MY HOME...I HAVE A PERSON/PERSONS/PEOPLE THAT ARE ILLEGALLY SURVEILLANCING ME IN MY APT...IT HAS GOTTEN SO BAD WHERE THE PERSON THAT HAS STARTED ALL IS ENRAGE WITH HATRED TOWARD ME SHE WILL DO ANYTHING TO HURT AND/OR MAKE MY LIFE A LIVING HELL. SHE HAS A LOT OF PEOPLE HELPING HER AND THEY WOND SAY ANYTHING TO AUTHORITIES ABOUT. IAM TRYING TO GET HELP BEFORE HER ENRAGE GETS THE BEST OF ME AND RUINS MY LIFE FOR IT IS HINDERING IT NOW. THEY FOLLOW ME AROUND AND MENTALLY ABUSE ME DAILY...PLEASE HELP ME I AM DESPERATE...WE CAN START WITH THE PERSON THAT I KNOW IS THE HEAD OF THE SITUATION...THANK YOU!
