Raising children to be thankful and appreciative for what they have is a difficult task today. What are some ways that you instill these values in your children? My children and I participate in several activities around the holidays that help provide assistance to needy families. These are often families that we know personally so my children see first-hand how they can affect other people.

It all starts at home. Children should be taught from the very beginning manners and respect. Too many people are letting their children show disrespect to adults as well as others. To many people are allowing their children to act like brats.. The excuse is "Well if they don't want too..." I firmly agree children should not have to do something that they are not comfortable with such as kissing or hugging, but speaking is something that should be done. Thank you and please and your welcome are not hard
