Does anyone know why my 4 yr old son would be refering to himself in the second person. Such as Joey wants a drink, Joey is hungry. This just started when I came home from being away for 2 days and he was with his grandmothers.thank you for any thoughts

I believe this is normal and sometimes even continues as kids start school. It just gives your child a sense of independence and he may just like saying his own name. It's not something to worry about and he will grow out of it. Just continue using the correct pronouns when you speak about yourselves and others and he'll get back to that.
