I've seen a few topics about kids who can not get along with other kids, and I wonder if any parents out there have read about Sensory integration dysfunction. I have, and my son fits the description to a T, although on a very mild level. He does not want other kids in his "space", pushes or hits if kids get too close, pretends to be interested in some minute detail on his shirt if a child comes on the scene, he gets out of control when his situation is abrubltly changed (dad comes home, a visitor arrives, a baby cries, sharp or loud sounds).I'm a stay at home mom, he does not go to daycare or preschool, but we attend gym class and a music class, and go to the playground regularly. Is this the nature of a 3 yr old who is not an extrovert, or should I be concerned?Any feedback? I'd appreciate anything.

I don't really know much about the dysfunction but a good website that was recommended is: http://www.sinetwork.org/ This may give you more information to help you think about ways to work with your child. One of the best resources should be your child's pediatrician.
