The New Recruits is a documentary about a battalion of jet-setting business students armed with a radical plan to end global poverty: charge poor people for goods and services. It premiered on PBS stations June 15, 2010 (check local listings).

The New Recruits takes an unflinching look at social enterprise, a movement touted as the new alternative to charity–its ideals, practitioners, and realities. The result is a hilarious, evocative, edge-of-your-seat thrill ride along a road paved with good intentions.

The New Recruits is directed by Ironbound Films’ Seth Kramer, Daniel A. Miller, and Jeremy Newberger, and narrated by Rainn Wilson, Dwight Schrute of NBC’s hit comedy series The Office.
