Delayed arrival

First of all, I wanted to say how great it is to have our Congresswoman participating in this forum. Congresswoman Carson, due to your delayed arrival in Congress you had the opportunity to view the workings of Congress from outside and inside the beltway. What differences have you noticed so far?

Rep. Julia Carson responds:

I think the main difference is that when I am at home, I can talk with the people directly on what concerns them, but here the needs of Indianapolis may get filtered out. Rest assured, though, as I continue here in Washington I will remember why I was sent here in the first place: creating jobs, improving education, and expanding access to heath care for the people of Indianapolis.
