Jeffrey Kaye has been a correspondent for the NewsHour with Jim Lehrer since 1984. Based in Los Angeles at KCET-TV, where he is a senior producer, Kaye has reported on a wide variety of stories , including urban politics, housing, immigration, health care, weapons systems, government contracting, predatory lending, and space exploration. His reporting on medical issues has ranged from stories on Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases, to health care funding, to a piece on unqualified "dentists" treating uninsured patients. His NewsHour assignments have taken him to Europe, Latin America, Asia, and North Africa. His work also has appeared on HDNet.

Kaye's reports and documentaries have earned him numerous national and local awards, including a Cine Golden Eagle and seven Los Angeles Emmys. Prior to joining public television in 1980, he was a radio and magazine reporter, a TV producer, and a special correspondent for the Washington Post. Jeffrey was born in London, and now lives in Los Angeles.
