Michael Rancilio to join MacNeil/Lehrer Productions
Former New Republic Publisher will serve as Vice President, Development, and Chief Revenue Officer
(Arlington, VA) MacNeil-Lehrer Productions is pleased to announce that Michael A. Rancilio, currently the Publisher and Chief Operating Officer at The New Republic, will join the staff as Vice President, Development, and Chief Revenue Officer effective May 1, 2012.
Rancilio will oversee development strategy, corporate underwriting, foundation relations, and individual giving for MacNeil/Lehrer Productions and its flagship national news program and website, the PBS NewsHour. "Mike's extensive experience in media, advertising sales, and digital strategy makes him a great fit for MacNeil/Lehrer Productions and the PBS NewsHour," said Bo Jones, President of MacNeil/Lehrer Productions. "His successful track record driving revenue growth in challenging environments and his appreciation of quality journalism will be terrific assets as MacNeil/Lehrer Productions builds the financial foundation necessary to sustain the NewsHour and expand its reach in the future."
Before being named Publisher and COO at The New Republic (TNR), Rancilio, 40, directed TNR's sales operations and digital strategy. He has also held management positions in digital strategy, consumer marketing, and advertising sales at Atlantic Media and, earlier, in marketing strategy at AOL.

A graduate of Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business' MBA program, Rancilio received a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan.
MacNeil/Lehrer Productions (MLP) produces the PBS Newshour as well as other programs.
