For every glossy copy of National Geographic magazine you've paged through, there are hundreds of images that you haven't seen: photographs that didn't make the final cut, but did make it into the National Geographic Society's massive underground vault.

Tuesday on the PBS NewsHour, we look at why and how those images are now finally being released:
