Wednesday on the NewsHour, a book about war that has stood the test of time, read today by students in classrooms across the nation. Jeffrey Brown talks to Tim O'Brien about his landmark work, "The Things They Carried," a piece of fiction based on the author's experience serving in the Vietnam War. That work marks its 20th anniversary this year.

We'll post that video when it becomes available later this evening.

Jeff also talked to O'Brien about how he started writing as a young man, and whether he'd be a writer today if he hadn't served in Vietnam:
