The new ABC sitcom "Modern Family" took home the Emmy award Sunday night for outstanding comedy series, while "Mad Men", which airs on the cable network AMC, won for the third year in a row, via The New York Times.

Meanwhile, Jean Luc Godard may be avoiding being awarded an Oscar, via The Independent.

The publishers of the Oxford English Dictionary say it is unclear what format its third edition will come in when it's finally published, but it is unlikely to be printed as a hard copy, via The Guardian.
