It's a heavy load to be the child of an icon, living in the shadows of fame. But when music is your legacy, you either sing or play or go on with life. Rosanne Cash chose to carve her own life out of the world that surrounded her. She is the daughter of the one and only Johnny Cash, the Man in Black, and sing she has done.

Rosanne Cash is a songwriter, a bestselling performer and a chart-topping success. Her latest release is "The List," a compilation of songs her father held up as examples of "must know" music. And now she has written "Composed," her memoirs and self-portrait.

Watch Cash perform two songs and an extended interview after the jump.

Editor's Note: Rosanne Cash's guitar was kindly provided by Foxes Music, Falls Church, Virginia.
