A fire was extinguished at the Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C. this morning, via The Washington Post. The museum has reported that no art has been "significantly" harmed.

On Sunday, a painting by Titian was damaged by water after a fire broke out in a church building in Venice, via The Telegraph.

On Monday, a new state law was passed by California legislators that would extend the time limit that people have to make claims on stolen art, via The New York Times' Arts Beat.

The band Radiohead has collaborated with a group of fans from Prague to produce a DVD that adds a hi-fi recording of the band's music to the fans' edited amateur concert video footage, via The Guardian. You can watch a trailer for the free DVD here.

Some archaeologists are opposing a plan from oil company BP to drill in the Mediterreanean off the coast of Libya, fearing damage to some of the world's richest underwater archaeology sites, via The Art Newspaper.
