Sowing the Seeds of Fear at Cox Farms

Come October, bloodcurdling screams and fear-induced laughter start coming out of haunted houses all over the United States. "The Haunted House Association":http://www.hauntedhouseassociation.org/ (yes, it exists) estimates that 500 of those attractions are on farms, offering farm owners an opportunity to supplement income and provide thrill-seekers with hair-raising corn mazes, hayrides and other Halloween entertainment. But what does it take to actually set up a haunted park? Black robes, extension cords and a troupe of actors who have the pipes for screaming and a sensitivity to all things spooky. Lucas Cox-Galhotra,director of operations at "Cox Farms":http://www.coxfarms.com/ in northern Virginia, shared tips for putting on a good scare and gave us a tour as employees set up for "Fields of Fear."
